Introducing cruise control for DDE6 standalone swaps/conversions!

This module is designed to bring back the comfort features to your conversion, without any hassle. We now provide the option of a universal cruise control stalk to make the installation process seamless. Both automatic and manual gearbox types are supported, including 6HP28 and 8HP running on CANTCU!

This unit will take a speed input from the speed signal on your vehicle and output all of the required data to the engine ECU to enable cruise control to work. We currently support a few different control methods, these are simple to wire up. Please select the controls you intend to use when ordering. Please note, if you select universal stalk, it will be supplied. If selecting any other option, no controls will be supplied.

-Stalk & Mount for Defender (as pictured), fully set up to work correctly with our module

-Discovery 2 TD5 controls (as pictured) - these can be retrofitted to the Defender.

-Discovery 2 - the module will work directly with the factory controls when paired with our D2 Dashboard Control Module

-Manual button inputs (see below)

Button Connection:

The module can accept inputs from a variety of sources, and can accept signals that are either ground switching, or 12v signals.  There are 4 inputs, but not all of these are required for operation of the module:

  • On/Off switch
  • Reset Switch
  • Plus (increase speed & set speed)
  • Minus (decrease speed)

Automatic gearboxes:

For automatic gearboxes, the addition of an external speed input is not required, since we can repurpose the speed from the output shaft of the gearbox (with a few correction factors). It is imperative that you input the correct diff ratio and tire size when purchasing, so that the correct settings can be input into the software for your unit. For details of how to calculate compound diff ratios, please read below!

The unit comes calibrated to the settings that you input when purchasing, there is no extra setup required. Only a few connections are required, however a prerequesite of installation is that the brake switches, and clutch switch (manual), are working correctly. We sell a handy little device to help you connect the brake switches to the ECU here. It is also imperative that the BMW ECU is correctly configured to the gearbox type (auto/manual).

Diff ratio calculation:

If you have multiple diff ratios in line, for example a transfer case, and differential in axle, please use the following simple calculation to calculate the overall ratio (this is the one you should supply when ordering):

Example ratio 1 = 1.2:1

Example ratio 2= 3.6:1

Multiply together the first part of both ratios:

1.2 x 3.6 =4.32

4.32:1 overall ratio

A lot of work has gone into ensuring that the cruise control module functions to the same standard it would in a factory vehicle, including all safety features. Please read the instructions thouroughly and carefully during installation.

Installation instructions can be found here

DISCLAIMER:

Please remember that this is not a plug and play unit. You will be required to use basic electrical test equipment, such as a multimeter, and make connections to the engine ECU. You will also have to add your own brake and clutch pedal switches, these are not supplied with the kit, however, instructions on how they should be connected, are.
