This gadget serves two purposes, fan control and reverse light. Compatible with DDE 4, DDE 5 and DDE 6 .
 
Fan
 
Relay:
Contains a low side relay trigger which activates at 94C and turns off at 90C. If you would like a different on and off value, please write these in the text fields provided when purchasing.
PWM:
You can use the output to drive a PWM fan. This output is a 100Hz PWM, which will control most factory PWM fans (BMW, Volvo, etc).
 
Manual Override:
The fan controller has option for a manual override. This can be any switched 12v input, from a dashboard switch, air con switch, etc. If the controller is being used to drive a relay, this will activate the fan. If using with a PWM fan, you can set the speed that the fan will run with the override active, using the DIP switches internally (please see instructions for details).
 
If you are using a PWM fan, but driving it from the ECU directly, this manual override function will also send the correct CAN message to the ECU to override the fan speed. For example, if you want the fan to run in conjunction with an air conditioning system, you can connect this function to a trinary switch. Setting the DIP switches will determine the fan output speed.
 
Driving the PWM fan from the fan controller, as opposed to the ECU, allows you to run the fan at a temperature that is more suited to your conversion. In a stock ECU, the PWM fan is not configured to run until 98 degrees!
 
Reverse 
Compatible with 6HP transmissions, and 8HP transmissions using CANTCU.
Supplies a 12v output (up to 10A) to power a reverse light when the transmission is placed into reverse.
 
Wiring to connect
Supplied with a plug and pig tails. Connections to be made are:
Ignition Live
Ground
Canbus High
Canbus Low
Connection to fan relay, or fan PWM.
Fan manual override (optional)
Reverse light feed & output
 
The canbus circuit resistance will need to be correct (60 ohms), refer to our wiring guide for details.
