This CANbus module is a long time coming, and the only way to use a BMW 7 series (E65) gearbox and/or shifter in your conversion.
 
The BMW 7 series uses a column shifter setup, and until now, it has not been possible to use either the shifter, or the gearbox due to the complex way in which the signals are handled between the shifter and gearbox. However, this module solves these issues! The module enables you to use either the original 7 series column shifter, or the 'joystick' type shifter found in E60/61 and E70 vehicles and pair it with the 7 series 6HP gearbox. All original functions of the gearbox work as normal (sport/manual modes). Extra inputs are supplied when you are using the 7 series shifter, as the sport/manual and paddle up/down buttons are located on the steering wheel in the original car. Below is a list of the potential setups that the module can be configured for:
 
Option 1 - E60 LCI 'joystick' shifter -> 7 series (E65) 6HP gearbox
Option 2 - E65/7 Series shifter -> 7 series (E65) 6HP gearbox
Option 3 - E65/7 Series shifter -> E60/61 LCi OR E70 6HP28/X gearbox
 
Please be aware that the module comes configured for the option that you select and is not compatible with other configurations.
